Harbour
I arrived on time. I entered the harbour at dusk, rolled ashore and I’m standing unsteadily. The horizon continues to sway and the stability of land still seems an abstract concept. There is still a glimmer from behind the thinning clouds, but now it is pleasing to the eye and more amusing than scary.
The story ended, although perhaps a little strangely, because the real drama in the final scene-miniature was not really closed, but actually – opened. “They lived happily ever after” barely begins the story that was centre of the fight here. The fate won’t necessarily be happy for all either.
The dizziness after coming ashore passes quickly, I know this. So I’m not going to stand here and stare for too long; I’m moving on shortly. I just need to rethink a few things.
