The opera to the libretto by Olga Tokarczuk, based on her novel Anna In in the Tombs of the World tells anew one of the oldest myths, a story about descending to underworlds, about the fight fought there and about the consequences of these events. The heroes of the stories are divine, human and demonic figures guided by various mysterious forces, intertwined with a network of fatal relations. The main character is, contrary to the original myth, not a god but a human-woman trying to find her place in the world ruled by gods, understand this world and save it from a catastrophe prepared by the gods. There will be no end to the world, but it is man who must make the final sacrifice to keep God's order.

The heroes use different languages; human figures in English, divine Akkadian, Old Latin, Ancient Greek and Church Slavonic, and demonic Aztec.

The composition was created in 2018 on commission by the Sacrum-Profanum Festival and the Krakow Festival Office.
