Episodic Concerto

for Guitar, Percussion and Strings (2024)

Episodic Concerto for Guitar and Strings is the second guitar concerto in my body of work—following the Guitar Concerto in an Odd Tuning written in 2012. The twelve years that separate me from that composition, which I dedicated to intense work primarily on dramatic and concert forms in various perspectives, have allowed me to refine certain compositional practices and develop elements of expression that together might be defined as my own musical language. Returning to the guitar, a special instrument for me (I was a guitarist in the early stages of my musical education), accompanied by strings, which are the most commonly used form of orchestra in my work, I hope to show the listener in an engaging way the journey I have traveled.

The composition was commissioned by the Silesian Guitar Autumn Festival.
