The Wedding

for soloists, choir and orchestra (2024)

"The Wedding" retains the structure of the drama by Stanisław Wyspiański: the chronology of scenes and the content of the acts remain unchanged. Some minor plots and secondary characters have been reduced; many solo parts represent lines from several characters. The entire piece is sung in Polish; the libretto preserves Wyspiański's unique language, which is a beautiful and often controversial mix of lyrical poetry, stylization, and verbal creation.
